BASED IN AUSTIN, TEXAS; CHRISTOPHER Seymore grew up in rural upstate South Carolina. He moved around the East Coast and ended up in Pittsburgh, where he studied poetry. After graduation he made his way to Houston, where he built his artistic career alongside a broader honkytonk scene that emphasized community. His music is rooted in all of those places and pursuits, like a one-of-a-kind cross-section of piney Carolina hills and stark urban lyricism.
